When I started my own holiday cottages in Suffolk at The Grove Farm, I received an overwhelming response from guests who appreciated my easy-going, relaxed style of cottages, where the authentic atmosphere of the cottage was deemed more important than off the peg decor.

Soon, I found myself facing high demand, and other Suffolk cottage owners approached me, asking if I could feature their properties on my website.

Gradually, I put together a selection of Suffolk holiday cottages which I felt I could happily recommend to guests who liked what I had and understood what Character and Atmosphere really mean.

I don't aim to become a vast website with hundreds of cottages; rather, my goal is to ensure that my guests find a cottage that creates lasting, happy memories, turning them into enthusiastic Ambassadors for The Grove Cottages and where I can personally keep an eye on all my cottages and respond to guest’s feedback.

I take the photos, I write the descriptions and what makes each cottage special, I am very happy to answer guests questions and I am always on hand to sort out any little hitches: I am hands-on and that’s the way I like it and it is what makes us different from the Big Agencies.

I offer a diverse range of places, from tiny, affordable boltholes to luxurious historic houses, but all of them have something Special to offer.

All my Holiday cottages in Suffolk and Essex are available for weekends and short breaks, and they are all pet friendly.

Many of the cottages are set in gorgeous rural locations where you are surrounded by nature, others are set in peaceful Essex and Suffolk villages, such as the historic gems of Lavenham, Kersey and Long Melford, or by the sea.

I love historic cottages and understand the beauty in old wattle and daub walls, flagstone and brick floors, open log fires and quaint cottage interiors that all combine to create a very unique and charming atmosphere.

Of course we also have modern stylish conversions of ancient cottages; where the hard juxtaposition of an unpainted ancient Water Mill wall with an ultra-modern bathroom makes for stunning interior design.
