Broman’s Barn is a coastal dream of a cottage. Situated on Mersea Island – the most easterly inhabited island in the United Kingdom – Broman’s Barn sleeps two and is perfect for a romantic getaway.
Part of the fun of self catering is trying out all the delicious local delicacies. The Company Shed in West Mersea serves a range of seafood but is most famous for its oysters, taken from the oyster beds just feet away. It is known for its relaxed approach towards dining, only providing you with the tools you need to crack, pick and peel your shellfish. Don’t forget to take with you a chilled bottle of white wine and a crispy loaf of bread to accompany your cold sea food platter.
With all of our self catering cottages we provide welcome baskets that include; fresh eggs, local bacon, tomatoes, local bread, butter, fruit, milk and much more – so you don’t have to rush off to the local shop as soon as you step foot in your Essex retreat.
