Tara: An Authentic Czech Historic Farmhouse
Tara is a meticulously restored traditional log house built on four stone-arched cellars, taking six years to renovate using historic restoration techniques. Massive ancient log walls, moss insulation, and hand-hewn larch shingle tiles preserve its authenticity while providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The farmhouse’s design reflects its history, with high vaulted ceilings, original wooden beams, and thick log walls providing both insulation and charm. The massive farmer’s oven in the sitting room features a staircase leading to a space where four people can lounge on top, staying warm in the winter. Additional heating comes from two large wood-burning stoves, including a hand-built kitchen range stove perfect for cooking.
For modern comfort, Tara includes infrared heating, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, and central heating controlled by telephone. High-speed Wi-Fi is available, ensuring you stay connected even in this tranquil setting.
The farmhouse is decorated with a mix of traditional and elegant furnishings, blending antique wardrobes, Persian rugs, Czech farmhouse décor, and modern luxury sofas and beds.
A 40-foot enclosed balcony offers breathtaking valley views, and in summer, its walls can be removed to create a stunning open-air dining space.
