ACCESS STATEMENT “THE STABLES”

This is an access statement for The Stables, a brick and flint single storey building next to Little Chelmshoe House.

This cottage is not graded in any special way for disabled use and all worktops, bathroom fittings and chairs are standard height.

Dogs are welcome in this cottage and we have had cats.

We urge all guests who are concerned about the suitability of our cottage for them, to speak to Grove Cottages personally on 01787 211115 and they will answer all their questions.

THE STABLES

There is ample parking in the gravel yard outside The Stables and you can drive right up to the door of the cottage.
The stables has it own private garden which can be accessed through a metal arch up the drive to the side of the cottage
The Stables has TV radio and is completely self-contained and is inclusive of towels, bedding, and a basic kitchen with supplies such as tea, instant coffee, milk, sugar, salt and pepper. If you run out please do ask for more.
There is WIFI provided for guests, the mobile signal can be a bit patchy but WIFI calling works in the cottage.
There are footpath maps and information on the local area and emergency numbers for hospital, vets etc in the information booklet.

The Stables is a single storey building.
You walk into the open plan Living room/kitchen/dining area.
There is a 2.5 “ step into the property. The living room has a log burner opposite the sofa and armchair with side tables and a coffee table in front of the sofa. Logs are provided with kindling and firelighters.
You then walk up 2 x 7.5” steps to the kitchen area which is separated from the living room by railings. There is an oven, hob, microwave and undercounter fridge a standard height dining table and 4 wooden chairs.
The bathroom is on the same level and has a standard height loo and sink and a walk in shower which has a 5” ledge you have to walk over to get into the shower. There is a wooden towel rail in the bathroom and heated towel rail mounted on the wall.
You then walk down 2 x 7.5” steps to the bedroom which is very spacious with a kingsize bed, standard height and bedside cabinets. There is a standard height dressing table and chair a chest of drawers and an armoire with shelves and hanging space. There are also hooks on the door for longer hanging items.
The utility room is off the bedroom and has an outside door to the gravel yard. The utility room has a washing machine and tumbler dryer and a freezer. There is an ironing board and iron and high chair in the utility room.
