ACCESS STATEMENT LAUNDRY COTTAGE

GRADE II LISTED

Non-standard door heights

This is an access statement for Laundry Cottage.

This cottage is not graded in any special way for disabled use and all worktops, bathroom fittings, beds and chairs are standard heights.

The cottage is not suitable for wheelchair bound guests.

We urge all guests who are concerned about the suitability of our cottage for them to speak to Grove Cottages personally on 01787 211 115 and we will answer all their questions and find the ideal cottage for them.

Smoking/vaping is not allowed.

Dogs are welcome in this cottage but are not to be left unattended.

Laundry Cottage Grade II Listed and has non-standard doors. Ground floor has brick floors with rugs. First floor double room has fitted carpet, middle room with single bed fitted carpet, twin bedded room has boards with rug.

There is ample private parking in our car park situated to the rear of the property. You can unload/load close to the door of the cottage and then park in the car park.

Laundry Cottage has Wi-Fi, TV/Radio/CD player and is completely self-contained.

A Welcome basket is provided which contains the ingredients for a traditional English Breakfast, milk butter and a local loaf. In addition to all the usual store cupboard supplies – olive oil, tomato ketchup, and brown sauce we provide milk, tea, coffee (instant and for the cafetiere) and sugar.

We also provide dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, dish cloth, brush and scourer. Tea towels. 

A list of emergency numbers is provided – local doctors, vets and dentist etc.  Local taxi numbers.  There are maps and local information.

The cottage has an old oak gate from the drive there is a step up onto a small paved area with a table and four chairs.

Laundry Cottage has its own private, fully fenced garden.

The cottage is entered by a door leading directly into the kitchen.  There is an old range set in the fireplace however, this not in use. There is a table seating five people – three chairs and an antique settle seating two. Oil fired heater.

There is a door leading upstairs from the kitchen.  The stairs  are narrow and steep and they are not carpeted.  There is a handrail. At the top of these stairs there is a safety gate.

Door from the kitchen into the sitting room. There is a step to a door leading from the sitting room to the outside.   However, the main door to the outside is from the kitchen.

There is a large open fireplace with a wood burner with sofas against the walls on either side. Oil fired heater.

First floor:

Stairs enter directly into the master bedroom. There is a stair gate. Oil fired heater. Four poster bed.

Door through to second bedroom which has an antique Breton bed (single) and another door leads into the bathroom.  Ball and claw footed bath with hand held shower attachment. Heated towel rail, wash hand basin and WC. Tiled floor.

Step up to the twin-bedded room. Two single beds. Oil fired heater.

The driveway and off road car parking area are gravelled.

There are outside lights to the cottage.
