Set in a remote location and surrounded by a twenty acre wildflower meadow, there are uninterrupted views across the valley and forest, to the mountains and beyond.
A visit to Tara is an opportunity to be close to nature and enjoy a holiday best savoured at a leisurely pace, surrounded by your favourite people.
Tara is a big place where everybody can be together and delight in each other’s company and there is enough space for privacy too, for those wanting to enjoy a few quieter moments.
We have lovingly renovated this 300 year old house to enhance its historic features and it is a joy to spend time in.
Tara is built on top of four stone cellars and is made in the traditional way, using massive logs which make it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
There are three spacious and comfy bedrooms downstairs and three upstairs with impressive beams, lime plaster over reed insulation and the roof is made with two layers of handmade wooden shingles.
A shower room and bathroom are on the ground floor.
Surrounding Tara there are 20 acres of private wildflower meadow, two ponds and one of Europe’s largest mountain nature reserves, just waiting to be explored.
February is usually snowy and there is a lovely family ski resort at Bila where you can teach the children to ski.
There is so much to do in the area, from hiking through forests, up mountains and through wildflower meadows to cycling around the lake and horseback riding through the countryside.
There’s skiing in the winter and museums and pretty villages to explore, and some wonderful restaurants and cafes.
The stars shine brightly in this part of the world and Tara is a magical place to stay for all of these reasons and many more!
