Lavenham Carnival

Lavenham Carnival - wilderness reserve

Date: 27th – 28th August

Following the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the Lavenham Carnival gives a Suffolk a taste of Brazil on the last weekend in August. View the Rare Breeds Motor Show, the Hilly Ridge Alpacas and Samba workshops! Other events at the Lavenham Carnival include:

  • Land zorbing, bungee trampolining and an inflatable assault course
  • Children’s activities tent for Clown magic, balloon twisting, face painting and arts & crafts
  • Numerous craft and charity stalls, and some delicious food and beverages
  • Acts and displays in the main arena and performance tent

Under Suffolk’s Skies…

Well known for its ‘wide skies’, Suffolk is a county beloved of artists both past and present, who appreciate the light, the openness and the dramatic cloudscapes so often seen here.

John Constable (1776 – 1837) was born in East Bergholt and later lived in Flatford, the heart of ‘Constable Country’. He painted many of his most well-known paintings here and was fascinated by the science of cloud formation.  Continue reading

All of our cottages are on the doorstep of beautiful countryside and many have bluebell woods nearby and we can’t think of a nicer way to spend an afternoon than taking a stroll through these magical places.
