Autumn Colours

This is a wonderful, colourful time of year and I took a little trip out with a friend the other day, to take some pictures of autumn. The sun was shining and there was a cold nip in the air ~ sunglasses and scarves were called for! Our trip took us just over the border into North Essex, to Mistley which sits on the estuary to the River Stour. We stopped for fresh, warm scones and lattes at the Mistley Quay Cafe and gazed out across the water and watched the famous Mistley Swans (there are lots of them). Mistley, Essex, looking across the estuary of the River Stour Mistley, Essex, looking out over the River Stour towards the Shotely PeninsulaMistley, Essex, looking out over the River Stour towards the Shotely Peninsula We then went on to some pretty little villages, some along the Essex coast, and others a bit further inland.  We had a quick stop at this lovely farm shop (can’t resist a nice farmshop) and admired the local pumpkins and there also happened to be a lady selling fresh fish that her husband had caught that morning! Fresh, local produce and the colours of autumn Freshly-caught fish from the Essex coast We are lucky to live and work surrounded by such lovely coutryside ~ more pictures will follow in a later post. Have a lovely week!
