We are very excited to show you around the latest addition to our selection of romantic cottages: The Tryst, a 15th century, Grade I listed cottage in the medieval village of Lavenham. Sleeping five (plus two dogs), The Tryst is heavily beamed and full of charm and character. The kitchen is warmed gently by the Aga, there is a private and enchanting walled garden and the rooms are beautifully furnished with antiques and original works of art. Set in the heart of of Lavenham, which is thought to be one of the finest medieval villages in the country, The Tryst is just steps away from art galleries, boutiques, some wonderful restaurants as well as footpaths through the gentle Suffolk countryside. We hope you will visit soon to enjoy this magical place. Lavenham, one of Suffolk’s ‘Wool Towns’ was the 14th richest town in England during the reign of Henry VIII, and this wealth is still evident in the magnificent, medieval architecture that we see today. The appearance of the village has changed little over the years, with half-timbered houses leaning merrily over narrow streets, which are home to more than 300 listed buildings. Squishy sofas in The Tryst invite you to sit down and relax and the cottage has wifi, an internet enabled TV and extensive library of DVDs, books and magazines. The kitchen is warmed by the Aga and has a table for a cosy breakfast time. Just outside the kitchen door is the stunning walled garden with seating for dining ‘al fesco’. This dining room is perfect for a special occasion. Did you know you can have your own personal chef come over and whip up a meal for you? Chef Mark Peters of Just Imagine Foods is a Michelin Star trained chef and will prepare your meal, source suitable wines and will even do the dishes and tidy up afterwards! The bedrooms are delightful with gorgeous features such as a crown post roof in the French Room and a twenty one armed chandelier in the Gold Room. The single room has French doors leading out into the garden. There may be arguments over who gets to sleep where!
