Announcing Meddlars, a charming 17thC cottage in Hadleigh
We have another gorgeous little cottage to share with you, this time in the charming market town of Hadleigh. Sympathetically restored, 17th century Meddlars retains many of its beautiful historic features, but also has an elegant, modern twist to it too. It sleeps three, but is priced the same as our cottages for two, so one person goes free!
The 17th century features in this charming cottage sit comfortably next to some modern additions, such as the (heated) marble floor, well equipped kitchen and wet room/shower room.
A cosy corner for relaxing over breakfast (above) and the kitchen is well equipped and has the welcome breakfast basket you will find in all of our cottages.
A modern and stylish wet room…
The master bedroom has an elegant, king size bed and the little bedroom is ideal for a third adult or child. Up to two dogs are welcome in the cottage too
A very pretty, enclosed garden, with an inviting patio area for an evening BBQ or relaxing glass of wine. Bikes are supplied too and you can enjoy a pedal through the country lanes before starting the BBQ.
The market town of Hadleigh is one of Suffolk’s ‘wool towns’ which thrived during the 13th century and onwards, until the industry declined in the 16th century.
The town is known for its wonderful pargetting (make sure you look up at the buildings as you walk past) and has a beautiful 15th century guildhall and a total of 246 listed buildings.
Hadleigh Riverside Walk (above) and the Railway Walk (below) offer lots of walking opportunities around the town and surrounding countryside.
Plenty of cycling opportunities too, along the quiet country lanes surrounding the town. Hadleigh is on the route of the Cycle South Suffolk route and the Sustrans Harwich to Hull route. Come and see Meddlars for yourself! Meddlars has everything you need for a relaxing break in Suffolk, so why not treat yourself to a stay in this lovely little bolthole in Hadleigh?
