We are always pleased when Kuwait-based artist Ghadah Alkandari comes to stay at The Grove Cottages and love reading about her Suffolk adventures on her blog, Pretty Green Bullet. Ghadah is a regular guest with us and recently she stayed in Hadleigh at The Old Monkey. “I don’t know what it is about these Grove Cottages that has such a pull on me”, says Ghadah, “this is my third visit to one of their cottages in less than a year: I’ve visited Rose Cottage in Edwardstone, Brook Cottage in Dedham and now this little gem: The Old Monkey in Hadleigh”. Ghadah always creates some beautiful artwork while she is in Suffolk and she has also left a lovely piece as a gift, when she stayed in Rose Cottage a little while ago. This time she had fun cutting out her three companions during her short break in Hadleigh: We think they fit in well with the vintage decor and quirky features of The Old Monkey. Ghadah fell in love with the cottage while she was here and enjoyed expoloring Hadleigh, with its beautiful guildhall and church and the friendly pubs and high street. You can read about Ghadah’s latest trip to Suffolk on her blog and do visit her website to view her beautiful artworks. Thank you Ghadah, we hope to see you again soon!
