| The
setting for Grove Cottages
The grove farmhouse is situated right in the
heart of rural Suffolk in the middle of beautiful open countryside.
Small pretty villages nestle in the river valleys on all sides,
these include the beautiful and perfectly preserved mediaeval villages
of: -
Lavenham
once an important Wool Town with its legacy of grand
rural Architecture.
Long Melford a
famous Antique hunters paradise with two Stately Homes, Kentwell
Hall & Melford Hall, both open to the public.
Kersey the
original Old English Village with the ford in the highstreet.
Chelsworth famous
for its village open-garden weekends.
And many others like the Eleigh's,
Bildeston, Boxford, Bures and Nayland.
Englands Greatest Landscape Painter, John
Constable painted all his famous paintings along the river valley
of The Stour, which runs just a couple of miles from the Cottages
to the sea.
The Grove and its outhouses, a dairy, a bakery, haylofts
and a farm workers cottage all date back to the early 17-hundreds
and originally belonged to an ancient long-lost mansion. The farm
is designed in an interesting enclosed, double quadrangle, giving
hints of a possible monastic history.
The large mature gardens surrounding the property can be enjoyed
by all guests for relaxing in or having a barbecue on a nice summer's
evening. The gardens lead straight onto open farmland.
The Grove Cottages have been created
out of the old farm outhouses, these being attached to the main
farmhouse and arranged around the two central courtyards offer you
privacy in a secluded and safe setting. |
