The Old Monkey - which is the local nickname for the building which was formerly a pub called "The Kings Arms" – Sleeps a couple I think this lovely place will really appeal to a lot of my guests, especially those who always ask how far the nearest pub, restaurant, shop, walk, cycle route is - because this place really ticks all those boxes. The Old Monkey is a small but a very cosy and romantic place to stay.
It has every modern convenience but still retains masses of original
charm and character. There are lovely walks straight into the countryside and The South Suffolk Cycle route runs almost behind the house. Flatford Mill, where Constable painted ‘The Haywain’ is just a short drive down the road and is somewhere we all love to go to. The contemporary Kitchen makes the preparation of meals very easy and is complete with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and electric hobs and oven. There is a modern small power shower bathroom and central heating is throughout all the rooms. The guest accommodation occupies the part of the old house that you can see in the image below, where there is a nice courtyard to park in, in the next few months there will also be a private garden for guests to enjoy.
The view out of Town with the Old Monkey on the left - where the trees are in the distance, is where the town finishes. ... and the view into town with The old Monkey on the right.
