Snow Cottage sleeps a couple

Snow Cottage was once part of the early 1700’s dairy. Now converted into a cosy cottage it has an interesting mix of period and modern ‘classic’ antique furniture, which with its old highly polished wooden floor, creates a spacious ‘loft feeling’.

It has lime washed or old soft redbrick walls with lots of beams exposed in the high wooden vaulted ceiling. The side of the building is built in the unique ‘soldier’ style of bricking and creates the large double-quadrangle that is the old Grove Farm.

Snow Cottage is single storey with lots of light and enjoys a small sunny herb garden & breakfast patio as well as having use of the orchard gardens.

Living area

• Generous, comfortable sitting area with large leather sofa plus armchair and one of Castiglioni's famous "Great Arc" lamps. The floor is made of highly polished old wood, the thick walls are painted with a limewash mix of ‘white chocolate’ or feature original soft red bricks & beams.

• Original pine farmhouse kitchen table and chairs with charming old lace tablecloth.

• TV & Video player, CD / radio / cassette sound system, selection of CDs and tapes as well as books and games.

Kitchen

• The kitchen is hand made from reclaimed oak and tile, with original cupboards, it has a Belfast sink, gas hobs and a microwave oven. It has a large sunny window overlooking the herb garden

Bathroom

• The bathroom is newly made with a very spacious open shower and period sink.

Bedroom

• The bedroom has a brass king-size bed with quality mattress, duvet and linen, a high beamed ceiling and large hand-built wardrobe made from reclaimed panelling.

General Features

• Snow cottage is completely self contained with its own central heating. It looks out onto a private sunny herb garden at the front, where you can have a quiet breakfast and has access to the Orchard gardens, where you can lounge about or make a BBQ.
• We provide quality mattresses, duvets, linen and towels. Highchair, baby-cot, TV and TV video player. Music tapes, CD's and some children's videotapes are available on request.
• Well-behaved pets are always welcome.
• BBQ’s and picnic table are free.
• A purpose built BBQ in the ‘long barn’ is available for large groups; including a set of specially supplied plates, bowls and cutlery for up to 20 people.
• 12 bikes are free for guest’s use only.
• 2 ‘top of the range’ 3 seater aluminium, ‘Canadian Canoes’ with all accessories are available for hire.
• Snow Cottage includes everything you would expect from its 4-star English Tourist Council rating.

In addition we provide a complimentary full English Breakfast Pack to make you feel more welcome: fresh roast & ground coffee, instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, organic eggs, bacon, butter, Lavenham bread, tomatoes plus olive oil & vinegar, pepper & salt & fresh herbs from the garden.
