This is a really pretty Grand little Village, it is a definite place to visit and a long day there will be rewarded with some great memories.

This is the beautiful Mountain Village of Stramberk

It has a Grand main Square with a great Cafe Society atmosphere, you can lounge outside in one of the many terrace bars and watch the world go by, some of the Bars have their own breweries and the food is very high standard and a tenth of the price of a UK gastro pub.

Scarlett with her first 'Pigs Ear', a kind of  'Ginger Snap' - got her attention with that one !!

The Church is a pretty impressive Baroque example.

There is just one lane winding its way up to the Castle past beautiful historic houses.

Soon you are at the top and coming round the edge of the Castle

and now it is time to make your way up that Tower...
The views are pretty amazing and a step back in time.

In the hill on the right of the last photo there are some caves, and it was here that the earliest prehistoric remains of European Mankind were discovered.

This is where the best view of the village is from

Stramberk is a special place and there is a lot more to do here, there are museums and great trails to explore plus you can hire bikes here to explore the mountains.

The Tourist Office and the Relax Podhuri Tourist office in the main Square have masses of useful information.

Like everywhere in Moravia the food is excellent, massive portions and about £4 a go !!   Start your Gastro experiances here !

Stramberk needs a full day or 2 to really explore especially if you are going to check out the bike trails.
