We really enjoyed ourselves at Pound Cottage. It combines the benefits of an excellent location with a thoroughly modern and tastefully decorated cottage that still retains the original character of the building. This was our second visit to Suffolk and it confirms that we love the area, the way of life and the friendliness of the people. We are very envious of the people who live in the rural areas in and around Lavenham. Perhaps I should apply for a job at the Suffolk tourist board after these glowing recommendations? We look forward to visiting Pound Cottage again Kindest Regards Ann and Paul

What a magical haven nestled deep down in the most beautiful valley. Thank you Anne and Bob for making our first family holiday such a wonderful one. Your enthusiasm and love for the countryside sings out in the land you have nurtured and the barn is a testament to your hard work and dedication. To restore such an old building to a warm and cosy nest is just great ! Well done, keep up the amazing work. We hope to see you again soon. Love and light. Becky, Jimmy & Bonnie

Just back from our 5 days at The Pump House where we all had a fabulous time. I would just like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Pump House (I am sure the spectacular weather helped a little). The property is unique and I have just recommended it to my sister whose husband is a Pump Engineer! As we wrote in the visitor's book the children and the dog were very impressed with the whole set-up - the river, the meadow, the chill-out room (a bedroom with a TV is a treat indeed for my two!). We had some wonderful walks including this morning a 7.30am breakfast picnic in a pine tree plantation somewhere between Stoke-by-Nayland and Polstead. Thank you for all the little extras that made the Pump House a home-from-home and our holiday one that will be remembered for a long time to come. We had to promise the kids that we will come back or I think you may have had a couple of sitting tenants!!

Ruth & Martin have worked very hard to develop their barn into a welcoming and comfortable holiday home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The barn was a peaceful, tucked-away retreat for us and the dog. Loved the walks straight from the door through the country park and coastal path. We appreciated the pretty sitting area, complete with sun loungers - perfect for a good book and glass of wine!

This was our third visit to The Grove Cottages – and what a fantastic surprise holiday, thanks to our competition win (thank you Mark for the nicest email we’ve ever opened!). If you have booked a weekend, make it a week. If you have booked a week, make it two. Whatever you book it won’t be long enough as, like us, you won’t want to leave. What a gem – we really ought to keep it to ourselves. Thanks again, We’ll be back !

Hi Mark, Thank you for continuing to send us your newsletters about the cottages - I forward them onto colleagues of mine looking for great short breaks! When I booked the last break we had, for Valentines week, my name was Heather Lay - you may remember me as the lady who burned the kettle! On Valentines day itself, Michael got down on one knee and proposed - so the picture of Snow Cottage brings back lovely memories. Since then, we have married & living in wedded bliss. So thank you for that - thanks to you we have some very special memories of those wonderful few days

The Bakery/The Grove was a haven – the perfect place to chill out and get away from everyday life. Lovely walks in the fresh air, pretty villages to explore, and lots of wonderful antique shops to browse around. Finish the day off with a blazing log fire or dinner in one of the many yummy eateries – what more could anyone want from a holiday?

Enjoyed a relaxing week at The Bakery. Mark made us and our Westies very welcome. We felt particularly at home in the en-suite- with its Jim Lawrence loo roll holder- identical to the one we have in our cloakroom at home! It prompted us to go over to their showroom in Stoke by Nayland and get a few more fittings!! We loved Suffolk- our first trip there and hopefully not our last- it is a beautiful setting and so much more to see.

We’re just back from a great few days in Walsham le Willows at Gabriel’s Place. Lovely cottage, c**p weather (log burner fired up for 4/4 nights...in August!) John was great as was the cottage. The absence of ‘chintz’ was especially pleasing! As was the attention to detail in the cottage. The kids refused to go to bed early! You have a great product in a lovely part of the UK and you deserve to do well. Have arrived home determined to make these short breaks a regular treat. Great newsletter, as always. This area has it all – good walks; countryside and coastal, pubs that provide good food, farm shops and local produce, and all from a base that is welcoming, comfortable and a real home from home. Everything has been thought of before you realise you need it! Great!

The three of us and our dog had a really good stay. The surroundings were very peaceful, the owls, the peacocks and the rooster added to our enjoyment. We have tried several times before to visit The Grove, and this is the first time we have been able to get in. Our expectations and hopes were very fully achieved.

Once again The Grove Cottages never fail to produce the perfect place to come to totally unwind, relax & shake off the cobwebs. Winter or Summer the ideal country retreat. We will definitely be coming to visit again – Charlie (our little Westie) was also made to feel very welcome. Recommend a visit to The Red Rose at Lindsey – would suggest however not eating for a few days in preparation as the portions are extremely generous.

It is so refreshing to have a quiet country cottage, that is self catering and so beautifully decorated, it should be tried by everyone on holiday. Beautiful countryside and we were well taken care of. We appreciated the basket with the goodies, and the extra touch with the flowers. The Grove did an excellent job taking care of us!

A home away from home –quiet, peaceful and tasteful. I’d recommend Grove Cottages to anyone and everyone. We were both thoroughly impressed with your set up. The properties themselves were gorgeous and your guest info superb. Even though it rained, your provision of bikes and general local area info meant that we found plenty to do and enjoy. The only disappointment is that we didn’t stay longer. Kate Pain, Editor, Fitness First Magazine.

Thank you, Bob and Anne, for making us so welcome. Mill Cottage is delightful, we love the tranquillity just what we needed! Cobblers was perfect down to the last detail - the cottage itself is awesome, the lengths that Sara & Kevin have gone to, to ensure an idyllic break in a fantastic location are quite over & above what we expect from Cottage holidays. They certainly have gone 'the extra mile' Eloise came to welcome us and should be given a gold star - what a lovely young lady she is.
