Hukvaldy Castle is a lovely day out, it is just 40 minutes away from Tara.

 

 

Hukvaldy is a very pretty tiny Village with some excellent bars and restaurants.

 

The Village is clustered around the gates to Hukvaldy Castle.

 

... and the Castle situated right on the top of the mountain and you get to it by walking through the beautiful park land and gothic cliff top footpaths.

 

 

 

Leoš Janácek, who is considered together with Antonín Dvorák and Bedrich Smetana to be one of the most important Czech composers lived in Hukvaldi and there wrote 'The Cunning Little Vixen' to which where there is a statue of the fox in the park.

 

 

This is another lovely day out with tours round the Castle, beautiful Gothic parkland to picnick in and explore and a very pretty village to enjoy some Czech specialities in.

 

There is just one lane winding its way up to the Castle past beautiful historic houses.

 

       

 

Soon you are at the top and coming round the edge of the Castle

 

        and then it is time to make your way up that Tower...
