Like Snow Cottage this is the economic option, although compact it really is very cosy with everything you need plus a cosy atmoshere and a romantic beamed bedroom all located in a picturesque small village location.

It is a perfect little economic self catering getaway because of the high standard of restoration and conversion of this Grade II listed former Forge, and being in the centre of Boxford.

Boxford would be my first choice as a village to live in with its 4 lovely old fashioned shops, 2 pubs , one a gastropub and the countryside never more than a short stroll away, which is handy as there is no garden at The Old Forge, but there is a big riverside nature resrve running all the way along the valley from behind the highstreet and the South Suffolk Cycle route runs past the Cottage.

What The Old Forge lacks in size it more than makes up for in elegance, style and location and this place is a big favourite for guests looking for an affordable but stylish place to get completely away from the stresses of city life for a few days.

You enter The Old Forge straight into the main room through the old coach doors where there is a cosy sofa and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen. The room has Oak flooring, Oak beams and is furnished with period furniture. Up the lovely hand made stairs there is a really beautiful vaulted and beamed bedroom and a designer ensuite shower bathroom.

There has been some excellent Master Carpentry used to create the living areas and bring you up stairs and this with a careful eye for design and comfort gives the place a very stylish and relaxing feel - and being in Boxford it could hardly be better placed to enjoy the beautiful countryside and unique medieval hamlets and villages that dot this outstandingly beautiful area.

This is an ideal place to getaway into the country for a few days or to use as a base to explore this wonderful area.

Please note: There is no washing machine in the cottage but the owner is happy to do the washing normally within 24 hours for a small fee of £3 per load.
