This historic 17th Century Coach House has been very sympatheticaly renovated and converted into a lovely Romantic Cottage with the emphasis on luxury and its unique 'Walled Garden' and private Wildflower Meadow.

The Coach House is a special retreat for a couple, as you can see it has the very unique feature of having its own lovely 17th Century Walled Garden to close out the world, plus its own Wildflower Meadow with nut and fruit trees and an ancient thatched Summer House where you can completely cocoon yourself in a wildlife sanctuary and gaze at the stars at night, keeping warm with a cheerful pot bellied BBQ. Special indeed !

The Coach House is self catering and situated in the very small pretty Village of Ridgewell on the Village Green, just 100 yards from the the local pub, you can see most of Ridgewell in the photos below, there is a tiny dead-end lane next to the Cottage, which runs down to the Church and from there you can walk over the meadows and along the footpaths that surround the village.

Ridgewell is close to Clare which is famous for its antique warehouse and auctions and is just 15 minutes from Long Melford of 'Lovejoy' fame.

You enter the property from an inner courtyard and come into a hall with a good sized utility room with laundry facitilties.

A steep winding staircase leads you up into the well appointed kitchen, to the left is the large and airy main room with its lovely high ceiling, the style and quality of the furnishings are definitely 5 Star and the arched leaded windows and welcoming sofas give a very comforting and cosy feel to the place.

On the other side of the kitchen is a very cosy bedroom and a shower room.

Due to the steep stairs we do not advise this cottage for those with mobility issues or pregant Mums and we cannot accept crawling babies or children here.

One small well behaved Dog is welcome at The Coach House, please refer to this web page  All About Bringing Pets  for charges and how this cottage may suit your pet.

The local pub just accross the village green.

This is the little dead-end lane beside The Coach House that leads to The Church and some of the lovely countryside walks.

I took these photos on the first sunny day of Spring, just wait till you see the wildflower meadow in full bloom !

To get to your own private wildflower meadow you walk past the lovely vegetable patch were you can pick your own organic herbs, vegetables and salads.

The meadow has a pond and 3 water courses and is specially tended to be a wildflower meadow with many lovely wild rose, nut, quince, apple, cherry and pears trees dotted around the paths that leads up to an ancient thatched Summer House, here you are completely in your own world and you can enjoy the beauty of a real English wildflower meadow all day and watch the stars at night and while you tend the little BBQ provided. What could be more relaxing?
