Please note that this is a tiny cottage and 2 adults and 2 children would just squeeze in but an extra crawling 'baby' would be too much - so if you are filling it to the maximum, baby means a 'non crawling baby' and you are still really squeezed.
Please note that this cottage has a steep winding staircase and only the able bodied should consider it.

Situated on the main road between the A12 & pretty coastal town of Aldeburgh, Cissy's Cottage is close to Snape and The Snape Maltings Music and Arts Centre.
This very romantic Holiday Cottage is an imaginative restoration of a 17th Century Millers cottage in a Regency Row situated beside a Nature Reserve through which you can walk to the Sea Side.
Cissy's Cottage has a beautiful interior where every original historic feature has been cherished and carefully restored, with many lovely additions by its antique hunting owners.
There is a pretty old cobbled courtyard with an original working water pump were you can take breakfast in the sun under the flowering wisteria and from which you enter the small but practical galley kitchen with its glazed stable door, this leads through into a hall and the open plan dining area.
To the left of the hall is a pretty bathroom with a Victorian roll top bath on ball and claw feet, beside it is the steep winding staircase that shows the age of the cottage - for those guests who are less than able bodied this is not a cottage to choose but for the rest it is just another beautiful feature.
To the right of the small hall is a nice lounge with its stable door windows and gorgeous wood panelled walls.
The floor of the lounge is made of original Suffolk White bricks with a large antique rug to keep you cosy as you marvel at the amazing ancient kitchen Range which dates back to the 1700's and you can still light and enjoy. modern attractions like the TV etc are discretely masked by placing them inside the cupboarded bread ovens that are built into the chimney of this room.
Upstairs you come into a twin bedded room and then through that into the master bedroom with a pretty canopy over the bed - this is a pretty common arrangement in these very old houses and listing prevents any other layout.
Straight from the courtyard of Cissy's there are wonderful walks directly into a beautiful Nature Reserve and onwards to Snape where the famous Snape Malting's Arts, Crafts and Music Centre is or the Tunstall Forest of UFO fame or round the lakes to Aldeburgh which is one of England prettiest and unspoilt seaside towns.
This is a very special self catering holiday cottage which is much loved by our guests. We provide bicycles for our guests to explore this lovely area without charge and we are happy to accept pets.
Cissy's cottage is in a Regency Row attached to 2 small brick barns and a small rambling Regency house. This cluster of buildings is is where The owners live and where they have created the 3 beautiful cottages:Cissy's Cottage, Queenies Cottage and Laundry Cottage which was listed in The Sunday Times 'Coolest 100 Holiday Cottages'.
The place is surrounded by farmed countryside and Nature Reserves.

The owners have carefully planned out the 3 cottages so as to afford all guests the chance to have some privacy with special parts of the garden nicely cut off
There are maps provided so you can explore the reserve and link up to the national coastal nature reserves and lakes areas.
The seaside at Aldeburgh is a 7 min drive away and there are unique walks from there along the Orford Ness Nature Reserve or beside the salt lakes to Thorpeness. Aldeburgh is a big Arts Centre with many excellent shops and great restaurants, not to mention excellent pubs and a pretty marina / harbour.
Well behaved Dogs are always welcome, please refer to this web page All About Bringing Pets for charges and how this cottage may suit your pet.

What did the guests say:
Friday, 10th of May, 2013, Fiona:
We recently spent 3 nights at Cissy’s cottage (May 3rd-5th) and had a wonderful time.
The cottage was gorgeous, very clean and wonderfully equipped.
Great attention to detail was given to our welcome; a food hamper, heating on, a freshly baked cake and music playing.
It was such a treat to find such a lovely cottage that accepted dogs.
We shall certainly book again.
Friday, 10th of May, 2013, Piyush & Akansha:

Hosts are very nice and helpful..... Enjoyed a lot..... Definitely wants to come again soon....
Friday, 10th of May, 2013, Beth & Allie:
Cissy’s Cottage has been all that we’d hoped it would be!
A story book cottage of immense charm, filled up with all the character you hinted at in advertising – and then some!
Absolutely every comfort has been foreseen and provided for, so that two weary trans – Atlantic travellers were made to feel as though we’d arrived home to Grand-mother’s cottage, complete with flowers in a vase a heavenly home-made cake, generously stocked larder, hot water bottles, the coal fire laid in the antique hob, and sumptuous feather bed beneath the rafters.
Our only complaint is that it’s SO HARD to leave!
Thursday, 18th of April, 2013, Peter & Cathy:
We have had a really lovely stay – the cottage is so charming and comfortable.
Friday, 22nd of March, 2013, Simon:
It is difficult to find a better equipped base for a holiday which is comfortable.

Absolutely delightful cottage.
Beautiful furnishings and fabrics.
Martin and Beverley so welcoming with tea and cake and overflowing goodie basket.
An awful lot to thought has gone in to making guests comfortable.
We were lucky to be able to spend Christmas here and hope to return in 2013
